[aprssig] Ever see a path as long as FJ-9 is running now?

How is having so many hops helping his family in CA "see" him? My parents
live in a different continent, they still see me with just WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1.
Is he aware of APRS-IS and aprs.fi?

Incidentally, I wrote to him already, no reply yet. I got his email address
from qrz.com
