> ALSO... (just for S & G's) anyone can query the existence > of an object by using the "<OBJECT NAME> *QTH*" command > and it will give you the lat/long and the owner... I really liked that idea. Though I changed the name to QRZ which I'm thinking is a little more aligned with the question of "who is xxxxxx". I also believe the format should match the OBJ and KILL format of simply responding to what is in the first WORD of the message. So I have added the following paragraph to the http://aprs.org/aprs12/msg-obj.txt spec: QRZ SERVER: During discussion it was suggested that a QRZ server also be activated. This server will respond to the message address of QRZ and will send back an ITEM-in-MSG to the requesting station representing either the STATION or OBJECT that matches the first word of the QRZ message. If wildcards are used (? And *), then a multi ITEM response would simply be a list of all the calls/names matching the request. And the requestor would have to resend his request for the specific match to get the ITEM-in-MSG response. If the requested word is lower case, then it is assumed that any other match regardless of case is being wildcarded. Hope that clarifies it. Bob, WB4aPR
