Method #1:
If your car is: VK4TEC-9 enable meny 616 DIGIPEAT (MYCALL) to ON
Change your HT to use the path VK4TEC-9,WIDE2-2
Pro: this don't mess up the regular network
Con: When you don't reach your car other digi doesnt digipeat you

Method #2:
In your car Temporarily enable UIDIGI (menu 618) to WIDE1-1
Pro: you don't have to change the path on your HT
Con: You have to remember to disable this while driving so that you  
don't mess up the regular network

Method #3:
In your car check that UITRACE menu 620 is default ON to TEMP
Change your path on the HT to TEMP1-1,WIDE2-2

Pro: This can always be on and doesn't mess up the network
Con: When you don't reach your car other digi doesnt digipeat you  
unless it's another mobile with the TEMPn-N enabled.

Method #4:
Change UITRACE to WIDE and you are going to digipeat everything.
Usually not a good idea....
