George, Nobody hacked your programs, they just wrote new software which happens to be compatible with yours, and conform to your published specification. Even if no specification existed, it wouldn't be very hard or in any way illegal to do so. Looking at the specification, it doesn't even say anywhere that it may not be implemented in devices or modems - so maybe the modem writers simply did not know about your wishes. You have the right to ask kindly that people don't do that, if you don't wish that to happen, of course, but some people may do that anyway, in order to maximize the usability of the available software and reduce duplicate work. Maybe you should be proud of the protocol you've created, and take it as a compliment that others are willing to embrace it in their applications and hardware! If a new open protocol was implemented to replace yours, it might mean extra work for you, too, to support the new fancy modems and TNCs using the new protocol in AGWTracker. If they simply use the existing protocol, they will simply work out of the box without you needing to spend time on that. - Hessu
