Thanks for the lead, I hadn’t run across them before. I sent them a quote request. I’ve been very disappointed in general by the changes in the industry. The big datacenters (and this seems like one) seem to have no interest in small accounts. Typically they have specials, with gotcha. Hurricane electric, for example, says they take single servers, but their smallest package is 7U and 100Gbps, with only 2 amps power for $200/month. If you go over 2 A, even for one second, they move you into a dedicated cabinet for $600. You have to agree to this is writing in advance. Not very customer friendly.
So I’m really hoping for a small single datacenter company. I’ve had three over the 14 years of findU and been happy with all. Unfortunately the first two go out of the colo business and I had to move. But I’d rather take that risk than the risk of been upgraded to $600/mo because one of my fan bearings went bad and caused the server to draw a little extra power.
