It's been a few hours since I checked, but if I recall correctly the
operator I heard wasn't igated by anyone. It would be handy if
everyone's TX was gated at least once if heard. If I understand the
de-duping, his packets (the payload) really ought to have gone through
at least once by someone?
I suppose the other end of the spectrum, a propagation study like
pskreporter/wsprnet is one in which *all* RX's are spotted. But if it's
possible that nobody gates a heard APRS TX, that's not so helpful. The
guy who got through doesn't get "credit", and those who igate it might
scratch their heads if their setup is misconfigured in some way,
especially if they regularly fail to see results of their igating.
Maybe there needs to be some sort of shadow/debug mode for APRS, so
people can at least look up if they got through or if their equipment is
