[aprssig] When did APRS start ?

8 Channel GPS marine receivers prices dropped to $400 in 1994.

I bought winAPRS from the SPROUL brothers in about 1996 for $50 for lifetime support... The lifetime seems to have died in about 2005.

Thank you again Bob for your vison and efforts over all these years.

Kent

Ah ha! Thanks for remembering. I guess the 1993 date was the first use of APRS during the Marine Corps Marathon.

The Teaneck, NJ conference was in 1992 (25 years ago this November).

You can look it up here: https://www.tapr.org/pub_cnc11.html
