Hi Doug! As an absolute newbie on this group, I have to say that I don't have any idea what has gone before. So, with my foot poised to enter my mouth I ask, does anyone have a list of layer 2 problems in the current AX.25 spec with respect to the formal ISO model? If the goal is to bring AX.25 into better conformance with the ISO standard for layer 2, in what ways is AX.25 currently out of compliance? A second approach is to identify the areas where is ISO layer 2 spec is less than desirable and discuss how we will approach those areas. For instance, do we slave ourselves to ISO, or do we choose to do some things better than ISO, or do we act to amend the ISO spec and then meet it? One area of concern is that AX.25, or any other implementation, will make the layer 1-2 and layer 2-3 boundaries less than distinct. Do we draw a clear line in the sand and take great pain to not step over or do we do what seems right and deliberately allow these boundaries to remain fuzzy? 'Nuff babble for now. 73 de Glenn WB6W At 08:48 PM 9/14/2005, you wrote: >Ok... who is on the mailing list, and what ideas do you have? >Douglas KA2UPW
