This SIG was started to identify how AX.25 can be But APRS is going to enter into this discussion because it depends on digipeating for its routing capabilities, such as they are. Take that away or restrict it and APRS is going to need to take on more layer 3 duties. That's also been the big thign missing from my own OpenTRAC spec - as it stands now it defines mostly presentation layer stuff. Someone did add a simple routing element, but it basically just replaced APRS digipeater aliases with a few flags to do the same thing. Wasn't any more intelligent or flexible, just a bit more efficient. If we're not going to talk about layer 3 here, then where? Scott N1VG
