Again, eliminating digipeating is not a goal as repeating is an integral
part of RF operations, especially in VHF and above communications.  As
to a routing solution that can use AX.25 as a layer 2 protocol: you need
to look no farther than IP as a start.  As I have stated in previous
posts, Winlink 2000 (Paclink connections) and APRS (with gateways to
other networks) will also benefit from this.  So, lets get off of this
"why we can't" stuff and start looking at "how we can".
