Again, eliminating digipeating is not a goal as repeating is an integral part of RF operations, especially in VHF and above communications. As to a routing solution that can use AX.25 as a layer 2 protocol: you need to look no farther than IP as a start. As I have stated in previous posts, Winlink 2000 (Paclink connections) and APRS (with gateways to other networks) will also benefit from this.
