And I am all for that and welcome this new effort. I can think of nothing I would enjoy more than a new approch to conventional packet networks. As you suggest, there is so much we can do, and the broadcast intent of APRS really has nothing to do with this general packet need. >Rest assured that APRS will not be mentioned in >the NSR web page on the ax25.net site.. Thanks. I only stated my opinion, because the existing web page clearly in the first 2 paragraphs targeted APRS as the SOLE target of this new algorithm. > but the NSR algorithm plays a much more >important role as one piece of an overall generic >layer 2 implementation. And here you have my utmost respect and encouragement. You are absolutely right that it was a royal pain in the rear in the old AX.25 networks to have to KNOW the network before you could use it, or you had to logon to a NODE and discover it. I welcome a change... The NSR approach to conventional packet would be fantastic. So thanks for not taking my criticisms personally. I'm just trying to keep it from spilling over into APRS where it is an excellent option, but should not be intended to replace all other options. Thanks Bob, WB4APR
