No, I wanted those on this SIG to understand that much of what had been
espoused was simply incorrect and that the APRS networks are not the
model of network utopia that Bob implied. It was also important to note
that contrary to Bob's assertions, the n-N paradigm is not in any way
similar to the NSR algorithm, neither in implementation no in effect.

Discussion of using AX.25 as other than a layer 2 protocol is "out of
scope". The discussion of the n-N routing algorithm was not in the
context of how it might apply to layer 2 operations; it was about the
APRS network which is not a layer 2 network as it exists today. I
encourage you and the others on the SIG to present ideas to move the
layer 2 work forward. If that means that the NSR algorithm is thrown
out, so be it. But you need to show how your implementation provides
the generic layer 2 topology required to implement generic layer 2
networks.

So noted. I am not an "advocate" for the NSR algorithm here. I am an
advocate for a generic layer 2 network topology so that AX.25 can be
successfully used across many applications. As such, I will continue to
oversee this group. I have not resorted to moderating the group and do
not intend to now. I will, however, ask that APRS be discussed on APRS
SIGs and AX.25 layer 2 discussions be discussed here.
