Alex was pointing out a systems problem... it was a good post and in case you didn't notice, he had good words to say about a past democrat as well as 2 past republican adminstrations, so he hardly was partisan. Sometimes you need to say the emperor wears no clothes if you ever expect to do a decent lessons learned. I don't see the need to dwell on it, but all these personal attacks are WAY out of line. It is a dis-service for amateurs to bury their heads politically. I've certainly rethought/reworked my station recently due to the recent failures that have been exposed in our telecom system. I'm not off grid, but I sure am not going to expect the goverment to babysit me if we have a infrastructure collapse. We also need to educate our ARRL directors so they do not turn back into the goverment current HF digital privlidges we enjoy (are you listening TAPR?) BTW, this is the internet. > When I became a ham at the tender age of 9 I sat at the American Legion > Bar > sipping my Pepsi before a meeting and I still remember to this day the > comments made by my Elder Elmers K2BJG and WA2HLE in the smokey loud room > "keep religion and politics out of amateur radio whatever you do". > > 30 years later I have yet to mention either and have never become involved > in an argument because of it. > I have firm and often radical beliefs in religion and politics->gun > control > but I remember those wise words years ago and amateur radio to me is the > DMZ > for me. > > Food for thought... > Rich > > -----Original Message----- > From: ham-80211-bounces at lists.tapr.org > [mailto:ham-80211-bounces at lists.tapr.org]On Behalf Of kd4e > Sent: Friday, October 07, 2005 12:30 PM > To: TAPR Mailing List for Ham Radio Use of 802.11 > Subject: Re: [Ham-80211] Re: Emergency Wireless Internet (Mark Miller) > > > > Alex Fraser wrote: >> It's a problem at the top. > > You are the problem Alex. > > We are trying to have a *constructive* discussion and > you insist upon injecting ignorant partisan hatemongering. > > Can we stay *on topic* please? > > -- > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > Thanks! & 73, doc kd4e > > |_|___|_| > | | & | | > {| > /\ {| > / \ {| > / \ {| > / @ \ {| > | |~_|~~~~| > | -| | | > ============\ # http://bibleseven.com/kd4e.html > KD4E ========================================= > West Central Florida > > /\ /\ > ?(~~~{ @ @ } Sent from > ( * Puppy Linux http://www.goosee.com/puppy > ( ) > ~~~~~~~~~ > / / / / > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > > _______________________________________________ > ham-80211 mailing list > ham-80211 at lists.tapr.org > https://lists.tapr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/ham-80211 > > > > _______________________________________________ > ham-80211 mailing list > ham-80211 at lists.tapr.org > https://lists.tapr.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/ham-80211 >
