Greetings again today. I wonder if anyone knows that there is / is not a processing throttle in jnos? Here is this story: At my jnos BBS console I telnet to others and all is well. Yet when I do the same from my linux platform telnet the session proceeds more quickly. The touch-and-feel is that jnos has a built-in slow-down mechanism. Also - in another example while reading a trace of a session by my friend over RF, I note a many-second delay between ACK for the IHeard command and the packet response with the IH table. My platform has reasonable horsepower - it can do 150+ page document search for a complex word structure in under a second - 13 second response to IH can not be 13 times more demanding for a 4 entry table. I don't find a configuration item for the effect. I have not looked in the compilation for such a parameter. Jnos never seems to show up as consuming more than a couple percentage points of CPU. Even after adding lots of I/O cycles there seems to me little explanation for sspeed of operation... 73 de Skip k8rra k -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
