In a discussion with Randy Warner at Synergy about interfaces for the Motorola M12+ receiver, a couple of weeks ago, I though I would pass along some suggestions for users that may eventually be using the M12+ timing receiver. First, the M12+ supplies 3 VDC at the antenna connector and not 5 VDC (like the earlier 8-channel Motorola GPS receivers - VP/GT+/UT+). This will require a GPS antenna that can operate at 3 VDC or an adapter/interface board to provide the 5 VDC required for your existing antenna. Second, the M12+ receiver uses a MMCX connector, which will require a MMCX connector on your antenna lead OR adapter board/interface board that you may be using. Synergy can supply the M12+ with an adapter board with replacement applications - where an Oncore 8-channel GPS receiver was previously used. You can contact Synergy for further details.
