[vna] Uncalibrated message

Dear Stan,

I happened to experience the same apparent problem.
"Apparent" because pressing the Sweep Speed button to any value other than
"Fast", should solve your problem.

The same happened to me, and I can assure you, I am initiated to the world
of VNAs.
Like yourself, I thought I was dealing with a software installation problem.

The real problem is with the manual and should urgently be corrected, in
order to avoid for new users to make the same mistake.

Issue 4 of the manual only vaguely insinuates this particular Fast sweep
mode behaviour on page 40.
However, it is not mentioned that this implies uncalibrated operation of the
device.

Hopefully this will help others not to waist their time like we did ;-)

With kind regards,

Onderwerp: [vna] Uncalibrated message

After calibration of the Detector and a fixture calibration, I still
have the "Uncalibrated" message in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
I am running V1.5 of the software on my desktop computer, as well as V1.6 on
my laptop. I have been through the calibration steps on both computers and
get the same behavior. Also, after I do a sweep and then click on "apply
calibration" I see no, or very little, correction on the trace.

On another note, I have tried several times to install the Beta V2.0
with no luck. It appears to install ok, but when I start the program it
gives me an error message about the configuration not being correct. Is
there something missing? I did notice that there is not a configuration file
with the setup files as in V1.5 & V1.6.

I have to tell you that I am among the ranks of the uninitiated when
it comes to a VNA. I can barely spell VNA. Any help would be appreciated.
The learning curve is steep and long.
