Steve: For item #1, see http://www.beals5.com/wx and select "how to build a T238". About half way down is the suggested circuit for radio power control. The same circuit will work on a T238+. The other guy who is doing this actually put the circuitry on the modem board which is a good idea. Per the warning above the schematic, this allows you to "remove" the circuit if you ever need to use the software development tools for some reason. To your last comment, the T238s send data out every five minutes. will -----Original Message----- From: wxsig-bounces at lists.tapr.org [mailto:wxsig-bounces at lists.tapr.org] On Behalf Of Steve Daum Sent: Friday, March 31, 2006 5:49 PM To: wxsig at lists.tapr.org Subject: RE: [wxsig] Wind application Thanks to all who posting regarding my mountain top wind application. The ham radio approach looks promising. I'll try to keep track of what I learn and post progress reports. If you have specifics about these items, feel free to direct me as I am quite the amature: 1) How to augment the T238 for power mgt as suggested by Will. 2) Good ideas for power supply/solar cells. 3) Good ideas for lightning protection? I'm not looking for continuous readings. Once every 3 to 5 minutes is plenty for my application.
