Dave, This is a little off topic but if you use UIView it has the ability to set a "Filter" when you connect to the server. Using a filter, the server will only send you data that is in the area you specify (which can just be a few miles). This dramatically reduces the amount of data that comes to you and makes IGating via dial-up or low bandwidth a real possibility. The side benefit is that it reduces the about of data that the sever needs to send out. You just need to connect to a different port on the server (port that accepts filters) and specify the lat/lon and radius for the area you want to see. You specify this on the page where you configure the APRS connection. When you get UIView up and running go to the help file and look up "Filters". Mark
